1. Sign up
Choose Rounds on the pricing page, enter your details and pay (£35 a month, or £350 a year). There's no free trial, so you're in as soon as you've paid. You'll use the same email and password on the laptop and on the phone.
2. Put your customers in (laptop)
The laptop is where you manage customers; the phone is for the day itself.
- Open Customers and press Add customer, or bring a whole list across with Import a spreadsheet (see Moving over from another app).
- For each customer, set the service, the address and how often you go. Pick the service from Services, or add your own and its usual price.
- In Settings, open the Rounds tab. Set the days you usually work, your days off, and where your day starts and finishes.
Days you don't tick are kept spare, so a wet day has somewhere to go. WorkWise never moves your visits onto them by itself.
3. Check your calendar
Calendar shows Day, Week and Month. Week is a board: drag a visit to another day, or drag a whole day onto another to swap them. After every move you can press Tell them to let the customer know, or Undo. Nothing is texted to a customer unless you choose to.
4. Run the day (phone)
Download the WorkWise phone app and sign in. The Today tab shows the whole day in order and how much money to expect.
- Press Start day to open the first stop. (Later it says Continue day.)
- Tick the services you've done, then press Done. Anything you leave unticked stays on that stop. The next stop comes up by itself.
- No access, or not needed this time? Press Skip. Only one house to move? Use Reschedule.
- Rain, or ran out of light? Move remaining takes everything not yet done and puts it on a day you pick, in one go.
5. Get paid
When you press Done, your customer gets a visit-done message with a pay link, or a note that their Direct Debit will be collected. If they paid you cash or a cheque on the doorstep, switch that on in the Done sheet and nothing more is asked of them.
To take cards, set up Stripe. To collect Direct Debits, connect GoCardless. Both are covered in Direct Debit with GoCardless and Card payments with Stripe.
